Project Outputs & Deliverables

VOLUNTEER II produces a range of technological, educational, operational and communication outputs designed to strengthen flood and multi-hazard risk preparedness across the Greece–North Macedonia cross-border area.

These outputs include digital tools, risk-mapping resources, response-planning material, training and educational resources, operational support for volunteers, communication material, awareness-raising activities and project events.

Through these deliverables, VOLUNTEER II aims to strengthen the operational capacity of the cross-border civil protection network, support knowledge sharing and cooperation, inform relevant target groups and make the project’s activities, tools and results accessible to stakeholders and the wider public.

Operational Capacity and Technological Tools

  • Strengthening the operational capacity of the VOLUNTEER cross-border network
  • Extension and integration of the VOLUNTEER Decision Support System web platform and mobile application for flood-risk management
  • Development of an analytical digital map depicting static flood risk across the cross-border area
  • Preparation of guidance material for the use of the new technological tools
  • Adaptation of flood-response plans to support local governance and coordinated response
  • Provision of vehicles, field tools and equipment for volunteer organisations

Training and Capacity Building

  • Training, empowerment and group counselling for volunteers and public authorities on flood-risk management
  • Development of a training platform and educational package
  • Production of a multilingual handbook
  • Organisation of joint demonstrations and training events
  • Support for the VOLUNTEER network in adopting a coordinated multi-hazard approach
