The main objectives of VOLUNTEER II

Strengthening the Cross-Border Network

To expand and strengthen the existing civil protection cross-border network for the prevention and management of flash-flood and multi-hazard risks.

Tools and Protocols

To adapt and enhance civil protection protocols, digital tools and operational mechanisms for flood risk management and interconnected natural hazards.

Preparedness and Capacity Building

To improve the preparedness and response capacity of public authorities, civil protection organisations, volunteer groups and other relevant stakeholders through training, education and practical cooperation.

Awareness

To raise awareness among local communities and target groups about flood and multi-hazard risks, prevention and preparedness.

Cross-Border Cooperation

To strengthen communication, coordination and knowledge exchange among civil protection stakeholders across the Greece–North Macedonia cross-border area.

Volunteers and Communities

To promote the role of volunteers and local communities in disaster preparedness, prevention and response.

Knowledge Sharing and Public Engagement

To support the dissemination of project knowledge, tools, activities and results, while encouraging participation and public engagement.

Communication and Dissemination Objectives

  • To communicate the project’s activities, outputs and results to relevant target groups and the wider public.
  • To ensure the visibility of the project, its partnership and its contribution to flood and multi-hazard risk management.
  • To encourage public participation, awareness and engagement.
  • To provide accessible and reliable information through the project website, social media, publications, newsletters and events.
